Business Development

Clampco Products, Inc., Wadsworth, Ohio, was founded on June 24, 1971, by James and Linda Venner. Since its inception, Clampco has provided high quality products at competitive prices in a family-owned business setting. Customer service, both in terms of personal attention to product development and quick response to customers' needs, has always been a high priority. By adhering to these basic customer-oriented principles, Clampco has grown steadily throughout the years.

Company Growth

During the early 70s, Clampco was supplying a number of OEM and aftermarket industries in the construction and trucking markets. By 1977, Clampco had outgrown its original facility and moved to a larger building. Three more expansions occurred at this site.

In the early 80s, Clampco entered other industrial markets. It also began supplying the U.S. government. This growth trend enlarged the company's production capabilities and enhanced its expertise in a broad range of clamping applications.

In 1981, Clampco jumped into the computer age and automated all sales, purchasing, inventory, and administrative operations. At that time, the company's twenty employees worked to keep pace with the rapidly expanding product line.

In 1986, Clampco purchased a competitor, Specialty Products Co. of Wickliffe, Ohio. This acquisition, along with internal changes in the sales department, spurred remarkable growth and industry recognition over the next few years.

Beginning in the the early 2000’s, Clampco saw the emergence of the Asian and southern-North American manufacturing markets as a major threat and therefore decided to heavily invest in robotics, automation, hardware and software process controls, and the extensive cross-training of its workforce. Today, Clampco now has roughly 14 highly-automated work cells, along with a custom-driven product line.

In 2015, Clampco Products completed a 60,000 sq.ft. expansion of its Wadsworth Ohio manufacturing facility providing space for a new R&D test/innovation lab and increasing its production and warehouse area.

In 2019, Clampco achieved our certifications for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 and AS9100D. With this latest  Quality Management System standard for the Aviation, Space and Defense Industry, Clampco can now serve the commercial aerospace and defense markets that require this certification as a condition of doing business with them.
