Clampco is pleased to report that we have achieved our AS9100 Certification with Design criteria this September. Smithers Quality Assessments is the third-party auditor that confirms that all of Clampco’s requirements of the standards were met before granting the certifications.

AS9100 is the international Quality Management System standard for the Aviation, Space and Defense industry. It establishes quality requirements for the design, development, production, installation, and servicing of products and services. Moving from AS9100 Certification to AS9100 Certification with Design will allow Clampco to offer additional value to our Customers with emphasis on structured design, software control and design validation methodologies. This will allow us to serve the commercial aerospace and defense markets that require this certification as a condition of doing business with them.

AS9100 certification is valid for three years and is maintained through annual surveillance audits and a recertification audit every three years. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the aerospace industry require AS9100 certification from their suppliers and subcontractors. With the successful implementation of AS9100 quality standards, suppliers can be listed in the Online Aerospace Supplier Information System (OASIS) database maintained by the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), the body that oversees AS9100:2016. Aviation, space and defense companies use this database to find and monitor suppliers, so inclusion is crucial.
